Cyberpunk 2077 got off to a surprising start when it launched a little over a year ago, but it looks like the fortunes of RPGs have really changed when Steam’s latest best-selling data hits. Steam’s fall sales kicked off earlier this week, and Cyberpunk 2077 is already at the top of the list – and seems to have been followed by a string of positive Steam reviews.
As seen by Forbes, CD Project Red’s inclusion in the cyberpunk gaming scene topped Steam’s bestseller list. It sits above the recently released Farming Simulator 22 and Football Manager 22 – both currently available at full price – worth noting – as well as other big hits like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Half-Life: Alix, as well as both being cyberpunk. In 2077 there is currently a 50% discount.
Cyberpunk 2077 has picked up the label at a £24.99 / £29.99 discount in its fall sale on the Valve platform, which runs until December 1. This seems to have caused a lot of players to take over the game and crash in Knight City. For the first time, the game didn’t even make the top ten of last week’s Steam bestsellers. Looks like they were having fun too.
As Cyberpunk 2077 Quest director Pavel Sasko noted on Twitter, the game appears to have received a lot of positive feedback about Steam from newbies. The players’ ratings in the last 30 days on the store’s website are described as “very positive”, the overall rating is “mostly positive” according to this story.
Since its release, the game has received a number of major patches and updates, with some new material – such as an optional add-on for Johnny Silverhand, a thread for V, and the archer’s new quartz “bandit” car – with improvements and many fixes. There’s still a lot to do, but unfortunately CDPR recently delayed some updates and other content currently being prepared for 2022 so there’s nothing more for us to enjoy.
